The Restaurant
The restaurant is the domain of Diane and Jim who have been delighting
their customers with great food and service ever since Jamie took over
the hotel in 1980. It is in three sections - The "Garden Restaurant",
"Bordello" and the "Lounge (lunch only)"
Food
The menu, which is written on blackboards every day, is international
with a slight British twist.
The prices are better than reasonable. Entrees range from $8.50 to $14.50
and mains from $14.50 to $29.50. All desserts are $12.50.
What about
a starter of Summer Minestrone Soup($8.50) or Crispy King Prawns with
Sweet Chili Sauce($14.50). Maybe follow that with The Lord Dudley famous
Crispy Duck with Kuma sauce and Honey Glaze ($26.50) or Whiting Fillets
Tempura with Japanese Wasah and Potato Scallops ($25.50) or Osso Bucco
with Mash and Peas ($20.50). There is also Thai Chicken Curry and a
beautiful Seafood Risotto. Or if you prefer a steak try the Grain
Fed Scotch Fillet with Green Beans, Potato Balu and Horseradish Cream.
If you still have room for more, finish off with say Baby Pavlova's
with marinated Raspberries or Rhubarb and Strawberry Crumble.
